Shifu Media began in 2018 as a late-night experiment. Kunal Rathore and Rajdeep Pathak, both disillusioned with agencies that prioritised billable hours over brilliant work, decided to build something different together.
They were obsessed with one question: what does the web look like when the people building it refuse to compromise? Not "good enough." Not "the client won't notice." What does genuinely extraordinary look like?
Their first project took three months — for what most agencies would deliver in three weeks. The client was stunned. Then they referred three more. Then those three referred ten.

Six years of
relentless progress
2018
The Beginning
Kunal and Rajdeep build their first commercial project together — a luxury real estate brand identity. The result wins an Awwwards nomination and sets the tone for everything to come.
2019
First WebGL Project
Rajdeep writes the studio's first full WebGL shader from scratch. The client's website is featured in Wired, Designmodo, and CSS Design Awards — all within the first week of launch.
2020
The Team Grows
Mehul and Vebhuti join. The studio deliberately limits intake to 8 projects per year to maintain an obsessive quality bar. A waiting list forms within months.
2021
International Recognition
Luminos Finance wins Site of the Year. Shifu Media receives the FWA award for technical excellence. Three projects featured in the Awwwards annual — in the same year.
2022
The Methodology
The team formalises the Shifu Media process — a 4-step approach ensuring every project delivers visual excellence and measurable business results. Conversion rates average 3.2× industry benchmarks.
2023
100 Projects
The studio delivers its 100th project. Kunal's open essay on quality vs quantity in digital creative work is read 2 million times and shapes how the industry thinks about web design.
